Bortolotti to test with Toro Rosso

Mirko Bortolotti is “very happy and very proud” to be joining Daniel Ricciardo and Brendon Hartley in testing for Toro Rosso next month.
“My target is to get to Formula One in the next few years so to be selected for this test is very important for my career,” said Bortolotti. “Of course, if I can get to F1 even sooner, then that will be great, but first I must focus on Jerez.”

Cosworth not worried about new teams

Baguette to test for Renault at Jerez

Formula Renault 3.5 series champion Bertrand Baguette will make his Formula 1 debut next month when he tests for the Renault team.
The Belgian driver will take to the wheel of grand prix machinery for the first time on December 1 at the Jerez circuit.
“This will be a great first for me,” said Baguette. “It’s all my childhood dreams come true and, at the same time, it’s every racing driver’s ultimate goal.

Senna aims to make own name in F1

Bruno Senna says he is aiming to make his own name in Formula 1 from next year, when the Brazilian will make his grand prix debut with the Campos Meta team.
“I hope, in a short time, that everybody remembers me for being Bruno, myself, and not for my uncle’s surname,” Senna, nephew of three-time world champion Ayrton, told reporters during his official presentation as a Campos driver in Murcia, Spain.

December ‘young driver’ test takes shape

A novel driver line-up for next month’s rare Formula One test is taking shape. General end-of-season testing is banned, but three days for the purposes of “young driver training” in December are permitted according to the 2009 Sporting Regulations.
Only drivers with less than three races of F1 experience are eligible. The teams have decided to run at Jerez between 1-3 December.
Ferrari has allocated the days to the top three finishers in the Italian F3 championship: Daniel Zampieri and Marco Zipoli, and the Mexican teenager Pablo Sanchez Lopez.

Senna insists he’s no pay-driver

Bruno Senna will make his Formula One debut with Campos Cosworth next year, with the deal to be formally launched in Spain on Tuesday and he insists that his inclusion in the team is not down to personal sponsorship.
It has been rumoured in recent months that Senna comes bundled with sponsors including Brazilian companies Embratel and perhaps the oil giant Petrobras, but he denied these claims to Brazil’s Radio Bandeirantes.

Coulthard eyes race return in DTM series

Reports in the German press say it is possible David Coulthard is coming out of retirement to race a Mercedes-Benz in the DTM touring car series.
The 38-year-old Scot contested his last Grand Prix at the end of the 2008 season, having spent nine years with works Mercedes power at McLaren between 1996 and 2004.
Reports claim Coulthard expressed an interest in switching to DTM during his visit to the Hockenheim round recently.
